Afterthoughts

Thank you to everyone for making yesterday a great day! Runners, volunteers, sponsors, and firefighters all worked and played well together, making our second annual Flapjack event our most profitable fundraiser to date! We're still tallying official numbers, it's looking like over $3000 has been raised for Camp Sunshine and the Curtis Walters Scholarships.

Here is a link to our official race results. Congratulations to Ben Brisben and Kelly Unger on their first place finishes of 18:29.7 and 25:13.4, respectively. We hope to have everyone back again next year. Thank you again for your overwhelming support. Pictures coming soon.

Flapjack Event Highlights

     Only 1 day left! We're looking forward to seeing everyone, and enjoying this time together. Here's the breakdown of events for the day:

7am  –  Breakfast starts

7:30  –  Race packet pickup (training room)

8:25  –  5K runners outside

8:30  –  5K race begins

8:35  –  Fun Runners outside

8:40  –  Fun Run begins

9:30  –  Awards ceremony & raffle prizes

10:30 – Breakfast Last Call!

   

 Some of you may be wondering about inclement weather. All of the pancake breakfast events will be going on indoors, so that's still on no matter what. As far as running goes, the run will happen as long as there isn't any lightning. There are a few words we live by at the fire department. Use your knowledge, skills, and ability, through logic and common sense to adapt and overcome.

T-shirt Deadline

Heads up everyone. If you want one of those awesome t-shirts below (that's in your size), make sure to sign up for the race by tonight. We will not be able to order any more shirts after tomorrow morning. Yes, we'll have a few extra for sale the day of, but when they're gone, they're gone. So sign up and guarantee your shirt size!

T-Shirt Design

To those of you who may be wondering, we as firefighters like to live in comfortable style. So what better way than a t-shirt that represents what we stand for, but all the while keeping us cool and comfortable. I present to you... the 2nd Annual Flapjack 5K T-shirt! In a poly-cotton blend to avoid shrinking, it's soft and comfortable enough to make it your favorite.
